  I can't believe the wait times in this office. I was in the waiting room for an hour and a half (after being asked to come in a half hour early) with no word from anyone. When I finally went to the receptionist and asked, "Hey, I was just wondering is everything alright?" to only receive an aggressive, rude response "Well, you're next. I don't know what's happening, but yelling at me won't make a difference." I was not yelling, I've worked in customer service my entire life. I'm very polite to staff on person and on the phone. Always. She drove me to tears in the end. I can't believe how bad their service is. Get referred somewhere else. Save yourself hours of wait and from being harrassed by a rude staff. If negative star was an option, I'd pick that.

  If i could give a negative star, I would. The Dr herself is professional and knowledgeable, yet her management of time and her office staff are HORRIBLE!!!! Once I got the referral from my primary care practitioner, I had to wait 2 months to get an appointment. That is not ideal - but common on the Big Island of Hawaii. Two weeks before my appointment, her staff calls to let me know she wont be in the office the day of my appointment. I had already scheduled a half day off work because I live in Hilo (the other side of the Island). I was irritated yet understanding, because mistakes in scheduling do happen. I then got 4 reminder calls about my appointment, odd and overkill. I requested the new inpatient intake paperwork be mailed to me so I could fill it out ahead of time - confirmed my address with their office, yet NO paperwork was ever sent. I had to fill out the 7 page intake form in their office, nd the office staff acted like I should have already had it filled out - which I definitely would have if it had been mailed to me as I requested. I got to my appointment 20 minutes early. I signed in and then 15 minutes later they came up and asked me if I was there for an appointment??! Not counting the 20 minutes I arrived early - I waited 2 hours and 40 minutes past my appointment time to see the doctor - 2 hours and 40 minutes - totally unacceptable! The doctor was nonchalant about her keeping me waiting over 2 1/2 hours. Not sure if her nonchalant attitude was because this is a common occurrence in her office or because she knows eye specialists/surgeons on the big island are too few for the number of waiting patients??!! Regardless of the reason why, a sincere apology would have been a reasonable response! If you can get your primary care to refer you to an eye specialist/surgeon on Oahu - DO - especially if you live in Hilo and have to drive 1 and 1/2 hours each way to see her!! It would have taken me less time to fly to Oahu, see an eye specialist there and then fly home than it did to see her. Bumbling, clueless staff and rather rude doctor - NO THANK YOU!!
